Mission
IHI
The mission of the Japanese multinational IHI is based on the principle of "contributing to the development of society through technology". Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. - IHI - was founded around the middle of the 20th Century and thus has a long industrial history behind it. IHI is now a world-leading company in a wide range of sectors, including energy, space exploration, conservation systems and processing plants, aircraft engines, environmental and civil protection, materials handling equipment, physical distribution systems, steel bridges and other structures, construction machinery, industrial machinery, standardised machinery, semi-conductors, equipment for LCD screens, products and equipment for domestic use, shipbuilding and port equipment. As long ago as 1987, IHI Construction Machinery Ltd., a company controlled by the IHI Group, signed an important agreement with the Italian Imer Group. In 2002, this agreement spawned IHIMER, a joint venture with the object of producing and distributing construction equipment in Europe.
IMER Group
IMER Group was established in 1962 as a producer of construction machinery and equipment. Over the years, a powerful set of commercial, entrepreneurial and distribution synergies was established, thanks to the development of sales networks on foreign markets and the creation of branches and subsidiaries. In 1999, the Group acquired Le Officine Riunite - Udine S.p.A. and in 2002 the Friuli firm L&T becoming sector leader in the production, transport and laying of concrete. In 2004 the range of products increases with the initiation of a new line of mortar spraying and conveying machinery. In 2006, with the joint-venture IMER-L&T, the Group opens a factory in Turkey producing truck mixers and batching plants for the regions of Turkey and the countries of the Caucasus. In August 2009 IMER Group acquired the company ITECO S.p.A. based in Pegognaga (Mantua), which produces self-propelled aerial platforms. IMER Group enjoys a strong competitive edge and now numbers amongst the leading global entities in its field, with a very comprehensive range of products to satisfy the requirements of modern construction.
Mustang
In 1985, IMER International signed a commercial partnership agreement with the US company, Mustang Manufacturing Company Inc., a world leader in the production of skid loaders. The agreement envisages the exclusive distribution in Italy of the North American machines, customised with the livery of the San Gimignano-based company.
